Wynyard High School will proudly present its very first original musical in late September and early October.
The 2026 “Evening of the Arts: The Musical” is a huge undertaking involving more than 70 students from Grades 7–10, alongside younger students from Boat Harbour and Table Cape primary schools.
Head of Drama Lix Walker said the musical was a milestone celebration of creativity and talent in a small school setting.
“Building off the success of our annual Evening of the Arts events, which we have held at the school over the past five years, this production takes that idea and turns it into an original jukebox musical featuring 14 well known songs from popular musicals,” she said.
“Featuring dancers, actors and singers and a few surprises for the audience, the show centres on a small Highschool being asked to put on their very first musical and the various challenges that presents.”
The production is limited to three public performances held in the school Student Centre on Thursday 24 September 2026, Wednesday the 30th and Thursday 1 October 2026 at 30 Church Street, Wynyard TAS 7325.
